The Valorant Voice Chat is an online communication tool that allows you to text chat with your friends while playing on the game. It provides players with a way to stay in touch while they’re playing, but sometimes the voice chat just stops working for no reason. Here are some steps to fix that issue.
Troubleshooting steps for Valorant Voice Chat
Voice chat can be a huge asset while playing Valorant. It keeps players in touch with their friends while they’re playing, and it’s a great way to strategize together.
But sometimes the voice chat doesn’t work for no reason at all. Here are some troubleshooting steps for this problem:
- Make sure you have the latest version of Valorant installed on your device.
Close the game
If the voice chat has stopped working, the first thing to do is make sure you’re not playing the game. If you are, close it and then open it again. This will refresh your connection with the game server.
Restart your computer
This is one of the simplest ways to fix the problem. Restarting your computer will force it to close all programs and windows, which can often result in a program running in the background interfering with voice chat.
Open up the game again
Sometimes when you’re in the game, the voice chat will stop for no reason. This is usually because of lag or latency. To fix this issue, make sure to close out of the game and then open up the game again. This will refresh the connection between your computer and Valorant Voice Chat servers.
Check your settings and try again.
If the voice chat stops working and you don’t know why, it’s possible that there is a problem with your settings.
First, check to see if you have the required permissions. If not, try changing your permissions. Make sure you’re logged in as an admin and go to the Voice Chat tab in the Game Settings section of your account. From there, click on Permissions and make sure that “Allow people to talk” is selected.
Next, go back to your game and try talking again using the Voice Chat tool. If it still doesn’t work, try restarting your browser or re-launching your game.
Run Valorant as an Administrator
There are a few reasons why your voice chat might stop working. If you notice that the voice chat is no longer working, try running Valorant as an Administrator. You can do this by right-clicking on the Valorant icon in your taskbar and selecting “Run as Administrator.”
Change In-game Audio Settings
Make sure your in-game audio settings are set to the correct input. You can change this by going through your settings, or by simply pressing “M” on your keyboard.
If there’s a problem with the sound from your computer, go to “Sound” and select the correct input. If you have a microphone, you want to set it to “Microphone.” If there’s a problem with the sound from your speakers, then set it to “Speakers.”
If the issue is with the microphone itself, try plugging in a new one if possible. If that doesn’t work, try reinstalling your audio drivers.
Allow Desktop Apps to Access Microphone
Check to see if the voice chat is working on your computer.
1) Go to your desktop settings
2) Click on “Privacy”
3) Click on “Microphone”, then select “Allow apps to access my microphone”.
Disable Party Voice Chat
When you have party voice chat on, it can sometimes interrupt other players in the game. This is because voice chat is an open line of communication that can be heard by anyone who’s playing in your party.
If you’re having problems with the voice chat, try disabling party voice chat by going to Settings -> Sound -> Voice -> Disable Party Voice Chat.
Change Microphone Format
If you’re using the voice chat on Windows, go to the Recording tab in your Control Panel. Under “Microphone”, change your microphone format from 16-bit to 32-bit. If you are using a Mac, go to Apple software update and look for an update for Skype or change your mic format with Audio MIDI Setup.
